Clothe-A-Child, now partnered with Kids Matter International, allows children in need to purchase $100 worth of warm clothing, coats, and shoes. Since 1989, we have clothed over 8,267 children, raising well over a half a million dollars to fund this program! With our new partnership with Kids Matter, we will be able to clothe more children than ever before! Providing clothing for children tells them that they are important and is a tangible way to show the love of Christ. Putting children in new shoes allows them to walk with confidence knowing that there are people who really care for them.

How You Can Help:

1. Make a monetary donation. 100% of your donation goes to clothing children. You can sponsor a child for this year’s event by donating $10 a week for the next 10 weeks! For your convenience, there are Clothe-A-Child envelopes in the holder on the back of each chair in the sanctuary and at each of the information booths. You may also use the giving kiosks near the sanctuary entrances or go to northcarefoundation.com or northchurch.org to make your donation.

2. Contact your place of employment to ask if they will match funds or agree to clothe children.

3. Volunteer! Each year we need 100’s of volunteers to help the families shop. Come by the information kiosk or call 972-242-8989 and let us know if you can help. You can make a difference in the life of a child!

History:

Dr. Lawrence Kennedy is the pastor and founder of North Church and president of North Care Foundation. When he was a child, a group of men each year would deliver Christmas gifts to him and his family. Their kindness made such an impact upon him that he stated that when he could get to a place of influence in life he would help and bless others the way these men blessed him.

From the moment he founded North Church in 1989, he started the Clothe-A-Child program at his church with 25 kids. Right away he could see the difference it made in those children’s lives and in the people who helped him that first year. Since then we have clothed over 8,267 with hundreds of volunteers helping each year and raising well over a half a million dollars to fund this program.

Clothe-A-Child Volunteer Meeting—December 6
This meeting will be after service in the Jesus Jam room. Order a Clothe-A-Child t-shirt this year for $10 at the main information booth. For every 20 t-shirts purchased, another child will be clothed! The last day to order is Sunday, November 29. T-shirts will be distributed at the Clothe-A-Child volunteer meeting on Sunday, December 6 immediately following service.
